Overview
As part of Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s strategy to ensure 3,000 new energy efficient affordable homes are built or underway over the next four years, we are redeveloping this site to include a total of 42 new homes.
As the developer of this project, Hammersmith & Fulham Council will retain the ownership of the site and will manage all affordable homes, along with the maintenance of all communal areas.
We have worked with residents to develop the designs for new homes and a new community hall on the site of the former nursery and Tenant & Resident Association Hall, (70-80 Lillie Road).
A residents’ advisory panel has been established and in-person and on-line public events were held. In total over 150 residents have taken part in the co-production process for the designs of this proposed development.
The redevelopment of the site will provide:
42 new homes, of which half will be affordable and prioritised for residents living on the West Kensington & Gibbs Green Estate
A new, high-quality Tenant & Resident Association Hall
Energy efficient new homes which will reduce heating bills for residents
A new high quality public space for all including community gardens and play spaces
Public spaces which will be designed to include plants and features which attract and support local wildlife
Current position
Hammersmith & Fulham Council have appointed Glenman Construction as the contractor to build the new homes. Glenman took over the site on 18 November 2024.
Glenman will begin carrying out initial works including the removal of some fencing, erecting the hoarding, protecting trees and clearing shrubs.
Next steps
Demolition of the existing building will begin in January 2025 ready for the main construction works to start in February.
The overall target for the new homes to be completed is Autumn 2026.
