The current site of the former nursery showing the dilapidated building and untended grounds

Introduction

Hammersmith & Fulham Council is consulting on proposals to redevelop the site of the former Lillie Road Nursery and West Kensington Tenant & Resident Association Hall to provide around 42 new homes and a new Tenant & Resident Association Hall for the community.

The site offers an opportunity to provide much needed new homes and support our strategy to ensure 3,000 new energy efficient affordable homes are built or underway over the next four years. The project will be self-financing to avoid putting pressure on other council budgets.

The redevelopment of the site will provide:

  • Approximately 42 new homes, of which at least half will be affordable and prioritised for residents living on the West Kensington & Gibbs Green Estate
  • A new, high-quality Tenant & Resident Association Hall
  • Energy efficient new homes which will reduce heating bills for residents
  • A new high quality public space for all including community gardens and play spaces
  • Public spaces which will be designed to include plants and features which attract and support local wildlife
