In our aim to increase greening in the borough and better manage the risk of surface water flooding, we are proposing to build rain gardens to connect the existing trees on Manbre Road between Rannoch Road by removing the paving to make way for new planting to help tackle flood risk.
The project is funded with support from local investors through the H&F Green Investment scheme. It offers residents a chance to earn fixed returns on investments from £5 while helping fund vital green projects such as this. For more information, visit the H&F Green Investment website.
What are the plans?
We are proposing to remove the existing brick planters and plant new trees andrain gardens on Manbre Road. The rain gardens will collect the rainwater that falls on the ground and allow it to soak into the ground naturally. In addition, we plan to repavepart of the footway and improve the crossing point across Parfrey Street with new paving andrelocating the signs at this junction. The existing Santander hire bikes will remain in place.
Please see the photographs, maps and diagrams linked from the section to the right (or below if you are on mobile).
