Greening on Marinefield Road
In our aim to increase greening and better manage the risk of surface water flooding in the local area, we are proposing to build rain gardens on the carriageway of Marinefield Road. This project is proudly funded through our H&F Green Investment, supporting sustainable, community-focused improvements across the borough.
What are the proposals?
Rain Garden outside St Mary's Catholic Primary School on Masbro Road
Rain Garden on Masbro Road We are proposing to build eight rain gardens on Marinefield Road, these will collect rainwater that falls on the road and allow it to soak into the ground naturally rather than go into the sewer system.
We also propose to install both standard cycle parking and cargo bike parking outside Langford Primary School and increase the size green space at the entrance to William Parnell Park.
To deliver the scheme, there would be a loss of 5 parking spaces along the road. The single yellow line at the end of Marinefield Road would be changed to double yellow lines as part of these proposals.
