About this consultation

The council is considering introducing parking charges for motorcycles for the first time. We want to understand resident and non-resident views on motorcycle parking in their area — including from those who ride motorcycles and those who do not.

Motorcycles are used by residents, visitors, commuters, and delivery riders, and they can affect how space is used on residential streets. This consultation aims to ensure any future approach to motorcycle parking is fair, practical, and reflects local needs.

Background

Motorcycles can park free of charge in any shared-use, resident, or pay-and-display bay, except on certain roads within Caxton Village. Caxton Village is an area of Shepherd's Bush, located north of Shepherd's Bush Green and adjacent to the Westfield shopping centre.

Motorcycles must not be parked:

  • In a suspended parking bay
  • On a single or double yellow line during its hours of operation
  • On the pavement

Some areas have designated parking bays exclusively for solo motorcycles. These bays are clearly marked.

In October 2024, Hammersmith & Fulham Council's Cabinet approved a Parking Strategy key decision report that included the introduction of paid-for motorcycle parking. We are now consulting on this decision.

Have your say

We now invite you to complete the short questionnaire which will help us to understand if any changes are required to improve parking on your street and in Hammersmith and Fulham, in regard to motorcycle parking.

Thanks.
H&F Parking Services Team

This consultation will end at 5pm on Friday 18 September 2026.
