Have your say on parking changes for Zone A

Overview

Zone A includes Hammersmith Broadway (featuring three Tube lines), the Eventim Apollo, Lyric Theatre, King Street, Hammersmith Road and numerous bars, hotels and office blocks. It stretches south to Riverside Studios, west past the new Civic Campus development and east to Brook Green and the borders of Olympia.

North of the A4, visitors can pay to park Monday to Saturday 8:30am to 6:30pm.

Streets south of the A4 (Riverside) already have extended hours Monday to Sunday, 8.30am to 10pm with a two hour maximum stay.

Parking pressures in Zone A have significantly increased and are likely to get worse. The IKEA store has brought increased visitors to the town centre and the impact on parking of the new Olympia development (opening later this year with a 4,000 capacity music venue, 1,575 seat theatre and 20+ plus restaurants and bars) is expected to flow over to Brook Green and the Broadway.

As well as visitors to the Lyric, Apollo, Riverside Studios and local bars and restaurants, there is a considerable number of food delivery couriers.

Residents in the six zones around Olympia have overwhelmingly asked the council to extend parking controls every day until 11pm which, unless changes are made in Zone A, could see parking displaced to your streets. This map shows the current controlled parking hours in Zone A. The area to the east of Hammersmith Broadway operational hours are Mon to Sat 8.30am to 6.30pm with four hours maximum stay, the area to the north-west of Hammersmith Broadway operational hours are Mon to Sat 8.30am to 6.30pm with two hours maximum stay, and the area between Hammersmith Broadway and the river operational hours are Mon to Sun 8.30 to 10pm with two hours maximum stay.

We are now consulting with residents in Zone A. This is your opportunity to protect your streets for years to come and prioritise parking for you and your visitors.

You can choose whether to keep the parking controls as they are OR to extend controls across all of Zone A until 11pm, seven days a week with a two hour maximum stay, in line with the Olympia zones.

We invite you to complete the short questionnaire which will help us to understand if any changes are required to improve parking on your street.

Thanks.

The consultation will end on Friday 30 May 2025.
