Returning Officer’s comments and proposals
The Returning Officer has two proposals for this ward:
1. Merge MSA and MSAH polling districts
The Parliamentary constituency boundary no longer cuts through this ward, so MSA and MSAH polling districts should now be merged into a single polling district, called MSA. This will not change voting arrangements for any voters, who will vote in the same building as before.
2. MSB polling district - designate Lygon House, 313-321 Fulham Palace Road, London, SW6 6TH as the polling place **Amended - see below - this proposal now cancelled and polling place to remain Childerley Centre**
The Childerley Centre was unavailable for the polls in 2024 as it underwent a change of management and some refurbishment. Lygon House was successfully used instead, and the Returning Officer proposes to make this arrangement permanent, if the venue remains available, as it avoids disrupting a school venue.
Update following initial consultation:
Concern was raised about using Lygon House due to the disruption it may cause for residents of the building, and the Returning Officer was also made aware of some of these via the polling staff. Given these concerns, the proposal is that the Childerley Centre remain as the designated station, with Lygon House to be approached should the centre not be available for any particular election.
