Returning Officer’s comments and proposals

The Returning Officer had one proposal to make for this ward:

1. WEB polling station to be changed to Earls Court Community Hub, 1A Aisgill Avenue, W14 9NF       *** This proposal is cancelled - see update below ***

West Kensington Estate Tenants Hall has now been demolished.  The station at Earls Court Community Hub has good facilities and is located close to the West Kensington Estate, where the majority of voters in this district live.  

However, as some voters found this venue difficult to locate, proposals for alternative polling places would be particularly welcomed.

Update following initial consultation:  WEB to be changed to Avonmore School, Mund Street, W14 9LY

A proposal was made to use Avonmore School, Mund Street, as a polling place, as it would be more readily found by voters.  The Returning Officer agrees with this proposal.  The site is suitable for polling, is in a better location than the Earls Court Community Hub and is generally more well-known locally than the Hub. 

In the longer term, this district should return to voting at the Tenants Hall site, and this area will need to be reviewed again once the planned new Tenants Hall building is open.
