In spring 2023, we extended the Braybrook Street Play Area by adding new play equipment.

The playground, which is in the south-west of Wormwood Scrubs Open Space, now features an area for children aged 8 and younger and an area for children aged 8 and above.

There is also a gym area.

The area is frequently used by dog walkers.

As part of a new Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) on responsible dog walking, no dogs are allowed to enter any children’s play areas, or the gyms on the Scrubs. See Responsible Dog Ownership PSPO - Wormwood Scrubs.

Despite the new rules, residents have reportedly seen dogs roam in the play areas and the gym, off the lead.

What are we consulting on?

Following resident feedback and to improve safety, we’re proposing to install low-level wooden fencing around both of the play areas and the gym near Braybrook Street.

Residents are encouraged to share their views with H&F Council and Wormwood Scrubs Charitable Trust who manage the open space on behalf of H&F Council.

The consultation will close on Wednesday 7 February 2024.
