Following the previous consultation on the Normand Park playground transformation programme, the council is now asking for further feedback on proposed changes to the sports area and play area in Normand Park.
Proposed changes to the sports area
Move and upgrade the skate park within the park to make it more user‑friendly, with improved facilities where possible.
Move the table tennis tables closer to the café to create more space for an expanded skate area.
Refurbish the multi‑use games area.
Proposed changes to the play area
Expand the play area within the existing park layout to include a dedicated swing area and more equipment for all ages.
Remove all or part of the climbing walls to make space for new play equipment.
Remove the sandpit, which is no longer fit for purpose, and replace it with new equipment.
Resurface the entire play area.
Examples of the new play equipment, along with a map showing the proposed changes, can be found in the supporting documents.
If these proposals are supported, the council will tender for the improvements. A preferred supplier will then produce a detailed redesign based on the proposals above.
This consultation will close on Friday 12 June at 5pm.
